[PART 1] LFW Gameplay: In-game Overall Features

Legend of Fantasy War is a 3D turn-based role-playing game where participants can choose characters and build teams to overcome challenges, complete missions, and more importantly win worthy rewards while playing the game. With an engaging storyline, players can both entertain themselves and collect valuable items whose values will increase when the players enjoy playing the game either solo or in cooperation with other players.
In addition to being the world’s first 3D game, Legend of Fantasy War expands its universe with an economic system where users play not only for fun but also to earn token incentives for their time and efforts.

1. Characters/Heroes and in-game currency
To start the journey with LFW, a player can begin with a character of different elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.
Each character will have different skills and personalities to choose from. While the Metal elements are famous for their stamina and defense, Water and Fire ones often act as the main dame in the squad. Similarly, the Earth one has special skills that cause very unpleasant effects. Finally, the Wood has the ability to quickly drain the opponent’s blood with lethality. Several examples of character skills are depicted below. Note that smartly choosing and combining character skills can help you conquer the LFW game.
Another feature worth highlighting about the character is the base and stats systems. Each system will feature a different type of stats (for example, the earth system specializes in HP stats — see the table below for abbreviations used in the game). Therefore, when choosing a skill book for a character, you should pay attention to the character’s attributes to achieve the best effect.
1.1 NFT Heroes
Besides having many Heroes, which will give you a tactical advantage in the game, Hero training also helps to make the squad stronger, by:
- Increasing Heroes’ level and star.
- Enhancing equipment.
- Learning skill books.
- Upgrading the battle squad.
The essential materials for those upgrades can be dropped through the playing process or can be purchased with in-game currency.
1.2 In-game currency: Gold and GEM
Greatly affects your earning. It is crucial to allocate these resources wisely to increase your battle power and earn NFT shards.
NFT shards can be merged into NFTs and sold on the LFW marketplace to other players.
Gold — Commonly used for
- Upgrading Power/ Equipment/ Squad
- Drawing Hero shards.
GEM — Exchanged into Gold or used to purchase rare items to increase the power of the NFTs.
1.3. In-game hero information
1.3.1. Level-system
During playing LFW, by completing missions or activities (i.e., PVE, PVP), your account will gain experience, and thus, increase your account level as well as your heroes level.
This mechanism helps to prevent transferring heroes from a high-level account to a low-level account in order to ensure the fairness in-game (i.e., low-level accounts use high-level heroes)
1.3.2. NFT-based hero shards to upgrade HEROes
One of the interesting earning mechanisms in our LFW games is NFT-based hero shards. By completing daily missions, you have a chance to receive our legendary chest (shown in Figure below) that helps to collect valuable NFT. Besides, you can also collect these shards by meeting some special NPCs in the game, however, it costs you in-game currency (i.e., gold).
If you are fortunate enough to receive enough NFT shards, you are able to combine them into their complete corresponding NFT heroes to increase your battle power or sell on Legends marketplace for benefit.
Note that, in one team, the smallest required amount is 3 heroes and the highest required amount is 5 heroes. Therefore, it is suggested to become the strongest in our LFW game. At the first phase of the project, players will be given 2 in-game Heros for free.
1.3.3. Fashion
“Beauty above all”, in our game, you can easily redesign your in-game NFT heroes (i.e clothes, hair, etc.) to make your dream characters as Kaida in the figure below. Remember, your heroes are able to transform into a real 3D one in our next ESport game. Of course, we are going to have session fashion, self-design fashion. Beside the Hero level system, our unique fashion collections will make your NFT become unique.
2. Battle mechanism
2.1. Overview
The match takes place in real-time. Each character has 3 active skills including 1 automatic skill (Normal) and 2 active skills (Special Skill 1 and Special Skill 2). Each character has its own speed, thus players can estimate the distance of the character’s movement based on this factor. Every time the character is turning, if it is not disabled by the status (stun, paralysis, freeze, immobilization, etc.) then it will automatically use automatic skills. Each situation that occurs during the battle will accumulate MP for the common MP bar (as being shown 150/150 at the bottom of the figure below).
The table below lists the amount of mana gained under different attacking situations.
When enough MP is accumulated, the player can use the Activation (Special Skill) skill of one of the characters. The player can also accumulate more energy to use the skill Fusion (a combination skill of all 5 party members and requires 5 members to be alive).
2.2 Targets and spheres of influence in combat
Depending on the skill of the hero, there will be different areas of influence (e.g., 3 cells, 4 cells, or all 9 cells) which are shown in the figure below. Note that except for skills aimed at random objects and with conditional target selection, other skills will prioritize selecting opponents in the same column and located in the highest row (front > middle > back).
In short:
- You can use up to 5 NFTs in the squad to battle.
- Each NFT has different elements and attributes.
- Skills also carry specific effects.
- Matching the right squad is quite important in the lineup according to the standing position.
- The level of the NFT card included in the game must be equal to or lower than the level of the character in the game
Recommended setup:
Front row is for “Tanks”
- High HP, fast healing, high armor, high evasion, and own damage-reduction skills.
- Create a solid shield for the squad.
Middle row is for “DPS”
- Main attackers with physical and magical damage.
- The effects caused by each Hero can affect the outcome of the battle.
Last row is for “Supports”
- The position which determines the majority of your tactics.
- Should put Heroes with support skills: recover HP, cause adverse effects on the opponent, increase defense ability or reduce damage taken for the whole team.
2.3 Character status during battle
During the battle, the character can earn either a good or bad status.
● A good status comes from skills to support the whole team (buff), support yourself (self-buff), support a light circle (aura) or activate when parrying, dodging, life drops to a certain level, etc.
● A bad status is caused by the opponent’s move or by using some special skills by yourself (including Ultimate Skill and Combo Strike).
3. Gameplay features
- Formation: an important factor, can decide if you win or lose.
- Guild Building & Guild war: build a team to fight and receive rewards together, increase community connection.
- Character enhance: Improve your character’s fighting ability and make the most of resources you have.
- Equipment upgrade: Various types of equipment, equipment enhancement, etc.
- Storyline: Old setting but a completely new story, i.e. each character is a separate story, the plot branches for players to choose the direction, the character’s emotions are diverse, which encourages players to learn the plot to fully explore the game.
- Day/Night Mechanism: Time in the game is divided into day and night, which affects some non-player characters (NPCs) and the scene in the game.m
- PVP mode: combat modes between players are extremely diverse and attractive.
- Betting: in-game betting mode, to test your luck!
- The skill-set: It is determined and diverse for players to freely combine heroes.
- Various activities: Story supplement, Museum map, Prison, Arena, Guild, Boss, etc.
- Hidden NPC system, random factor, and more.
